International Exchange Program

SPACE-SE of Graduate School

SPACE-SE is a program designed by the Graduate School of Science and Engineering and the Graduate School of Advanced Health Science (Biomedical Engineering and Functional Biomolecular Science) of Saga University to receive the graduate exchange students from collaborating partner universities abroad. In this program the courses are conducted in English. Elective courses will be selected from the proposed selective courses. By participating in this program, students can build the foundation of activities for international research community in deepening their knowledge and technical experiences in selected fields of Science and Engineering and Health Science and in communicating and exchanging views of Japanese culture and Japanese society with Japanese students. This is expected to contribute to internationalization of Saga University in education and research as well.

Education Program for Global Advancement in Environmental, Energy and Health Science (EPGA)

The Education Program for Global Advancement (EPGA) in Environmental, Energy and Health Science provides all lectures, seminars, and internships, etc. on global environmental, energy problems and health expertise in English for both foreign and Japanese students. Students from overseas can learn and study completely in Japan without a hurdle of Japanese language. The EPGA is an educational course in the Graduate School of Science and Engineering and Graduate School of Advanced Health Science, Saga University, that started in October 2020, in order to bring up global researchers and engineers who will contribute to environmental, energy and health science. This program gives the priority to accept the government (MEXT) sponsored foreign students.

Education program for AI and Data Science Specialists (EPAD)

The Education program for AI and Data Science Specialists (EPAD) provides all lectures, seminars, and internships, etc. on AI and data science technologies in English for both foreign and Japanese students. Students from overseas can learn and study completely in Japan without a hurdle of Japanese language. The EPAD is an educational course in the Graduate School of Science and Engineering, Saga University, that will start in October 2022, in order to bring up global researchers and engineers who will contribute to technological innovation in AI and data science fields. This program gives the priority to accept the government (MEXT) sponsored foreign students.

The Saga University Scholarship For Strategic International Postgraduate Program (SIPOP) For foreign students In Science And Technology

The aim of the Strategic International Postgraduate Program (SIPOP) for foreign students at the Graduate School of Science and Engineering, Saga University is to strengthen the collaboration of studies and education between Saga University and universities or institutes in Asian countries being based on applicants’ mutual academic agreements and to develop more the international activities of Saga University in the world. The Strategic International Postgraduate Program (SIPOP) will be carried out at the all courses in the Department of Science and Advanced Technology. Those who have already co-worked and/or studied with professors of Saga University being involved professors of respective universities or institutes can apply for this program. Applicants are encouraged to decide the research fields and to designate relevant supervisors(s) given in the List of Academic Staffs, and have to get recommendations of the supervisor(s). The recommendations of the professors at applicant’s own university are also required. Doctor’s Degree (Science or Engineering) will be awarded to students on successful completion of the program. This is a unique and University own scholarship system that preferentially accepts international students at the Graduate School of Science and Engineering of Saga University.

Student Association of Excellent and Progressive Spirit (STEPs)

“STEPs” stands for Student Association of Excellent and Progressive Spirit, and is an international exchange organization recognized by the Faculty of Science and Engineering of Saga University, consisting of students with outstanding academic performance who received the Dean's Award.
